Learning Modules
This learning module begins with a foundational exploration of “inference,” illustrating how it underpins our understanding of “intelligence” in both humans and machines. From there, learners are guided through a comparative analysis of man-machine attributes and the various forms of intelligence each may possess. Building on these insights, the module delves into the core concepts of Means End Analysis (MEA)—focusing on the initial, present, and goal states, as well as the idea of symbolic distance—to demonstrate how systematic problem-solving works in different contexts. Finally, participants are introduced to the notion of problem-solving task environments, examining how these settings can influence the application of intelligence and the process of inference. Through these interconnected lessons, the module provides a comprehensive framework for understanding how inference and intelligence can be applied across a spectrum of challenges and scenarios.
